AF Monitors Child Reform Home in Nepalgunj, Five Juveniles Injured in Brawl
The fight took place at around 2 pm on 29 July 2024.
Five juveniles were injured in the fight that erupted due to old grievances. One of the injured juveniles was taken to Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur while the other four are being treated at Bheri Hospital Nepalgunj. These juveniles have sustained injuries to the head.
The injured juveniles told AF's lawyer Basanta Gautam that a group of 30 fellow juveniles beat them up.
They complained that these kinds of incidents occur from time to time due to the lack of seriousness of the CRH administration. One of them said that they had informed the CRH Chief about the possibility of violence but the authorities did not pay attention, causing the unwanted incident.
Keeping underage juveniles together with those above 18 years old has created problems in CRHs across the country. Juveniles from different age groups have been ganging up against one another.
Lack of adequate number of security personnel, poor physical infrastructure and incompetence of the CRH authorities are some other reasons for violent brawls in the CRHs.
