Strategic Dialogue on CRSV Reparation in Lumbini Province
The Strategic Dialogue with Civil Society Actors and Conflict Victims on Reparation Opportunities for CRSV Victims brought together key stakeholders, including human rights defenders, conflict survivors, and legal experts. The focus was on the current Transitional Justice Commission (TRC) Bill and its implications for reparation and justice for victims of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV).
Discussions highlighted both the progress and shortcomings of the TRC Bill. While acknowledging the bill's recognition of CRSV and the allocation of significant funds for reparations, participants raised concerns about its limited timeframes for case registration and provisions that may conflict with international standards.
The meeting resulted in a strategic plan to improve data collection, ensure victim safety, and advocate for more comprehensive and inclusive reparative measures. The event underscored the need for ongoing dialogue and coordination to address the needs of CRSV victims effectively.
