Writ against Shelving of FIR filed
26 November 2012. Requesting for the nullification of the government decision to shelve the FIR against Maoists including Agni Sapkota in Arjun Lama's murder case, the victim's wife Purnimaya Lama has filed a writ at the Supreme Court (SC) on 22 November.

Documentary on Torture Survivors Screened
20 November 2012. "The Resurrected", a documentary about representative torture survivors in Nepal, was screened on 18 November 2012 in Kathmandu at weeklong Human Rights Film Festival. Supreme Court Issues Stay Order in Basnet Promotion Case
15 October 2012. Responding to the writ petition that challenged government's decision of promoting Raju Basnet to the post of brigadier general, the apex court today issued a stay order. 34 petitioners, including rights organizations and conflict victims, had filed the petition at the court on 13 October.

AF Censures Basnet Promotion
15 October 2012. Advocacy Forum has issued a press release condemning the government's recent decision of promoting Colonel Raju Basnet to the post of Brigadier General. Basnet has been implicated in torturing and disappearing 49 people in the infamous Bhairabnath Battalion barracks during conflict.

Rights Organizations Condemn Recent Withdrawals of Cases
12 October 2012. Human rights organizations including Advocacy Forum have condemned Nepal government's freshest instance of case withdrawal against people implicated in serious breach of human rights violations. Ministry of Home Affairs has sent a letter to Ministry of Law and Justice on 3 September 2012 informing the latter about the case withdrawal.

HRC Again Finds Nepal Responsible for Breaching Treaty Obligations
24 August 2012. Holding Nepal responsible for breaching her treaty obligations under the ICCPR once again, the United Nations Human Rights Committee (UN-HRC) has urged the government of Nepal to enact a law defining and criminalising torture, and to repeal all laws granting impunity to alleged perpetrators of torture and enforced disappearance.
