AF Organized a Stakeholders Meeting on Juvenile Justice

Kathmandu: Advocacy Forum (AF) organized a one-day consultation meeting entitled "Situation of Juvenile Justice in Nepal and Roles of Stakeholders," on 26 April in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu. The meeting provided meaningful discussion on juvenile justice laws and the fair trial rights of juveniles. The issues of torture and ill-treatment of juveniles in police detention centers, difficulties in determining medical age and further helping children living on the street were key discussion points. Throughout the meeting, different stakeholders shared their valuable experiences, identified problems and provided possible solutions to these problems.
Workshop on Strategic Litigation Conducted and A3T Launched in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, 21 November (2018) – Advocacy Forum – Nepal, with the support of Open Society Foundation, organized a two day regional workshop on "Strategic Litigation on Torture" in Kathmandu on 20th and 21st November. Thirty participants from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Nepal were present in the workshop.

Altogether 60 participants including representatives from Provincial Internal Affairs and Law Ministry, District court, District Public Prosecutors, District Juvenile Welfare Council, Women and Children Cell of Nepal Police and members of Local Judicial Committee (LJC)
