Discussion Programs on the Occasion of International Week of the Disappeared Held

03 June, 2023: On the occasion of International Week of the Disappeared, a series of discussion programs were organized by the Advocacy Forum - Nepal in Bardiya, Biratnagar, Pokhara, Kanchanpur, and Butwal, in collaboration with the conflict victims-led organizations. International Week of the Disappeared is observed every year in the last week of May to honor the memories of innumerable individuals who are forcibly disappeared as well as their families who have been persistently fighting for justice and truth around the world. The primary objective of the series of events was to promote victims' rights to reparation and discuss the Bill to amend the TRC Act tabled in the parliament.

17 February 2022, Kathmandu: To commemorate the 19th killing anniversary of teenagers Reena Rasaili and Maina Sunuwar by the then Royal Nepal Army, Maina Bal Bikash Samiti and Reena Arpan Dalit Utthan Manch organized a commemoration event on 17 February 2022 at Alfa House, Kathmandu. Around 70 people, including the family members of Maina and Reena, representatives from the conflict victim groups, members of civil societies, and media personnel attended the event.

The main objective of the meeting was to reflect on the AF's interventions in 2022 and delve into strategies to better protect and promote human rights and the rule of law in Nepal.
