AF Distributed 700 Sweater and Sports Materials for EQ Affected Children in Gorkha

Kathmandu, 05 January 2015: As a part of psychosocial counseling and social support program for earthquake victims, Advocacy Forum (AF) provided 700 sweater, 170 bags, tiffin boxes, stationary and sports materials for the earthquake affected students of Prithivi Lower Secondary School, Devkot Secondary School, Tribhuwan Secondary School, Nava Jyoti Secondary School, Ranta Jyoti Higher Secondary School, Prithivi Smarak Secondary School, Ratna Rajya Secondary School, Sthanika Secondary School and Devisthan Secondary School of Khoplang, Dandi Danda and Gaikhur VDCs of Gorkha district were included for psychosocial counseling and social support distribution. Likewise, follow-up psychosocial counseling was provided for 8 earthquake children who needed separate counseling.

Earlier, AF had provided psychosocial counseling for children and teachers and community leaders separately. AF had provided nutritional foods for children of Khoplang, Dandi Danda and Gaikhur VDCs of Gorkha district.

Under the same program, AF provided similar support to the students of Khudi, Bhulbhule and Simpani VDCs of Lamjung district. Likewise, students and teachers and community leaders were provided psychosocial counseling separately.

The programme is supported by DKA Austria.
