Torture decreased in Nepal: Advocacy Forum Report
26 June 2014: AF launched its annual torture report entitled "Promising Development – Persisting Challenges: Trends and Patterns in Torture in Nepal During 2013" on 25 June 2014 in Kathmandu. The report has made it public that out of 3,662 detainees interviewed in 2013, 16.7% detainees claimed that they were subjected to torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading during their detention.

AF, TRIAL & REDRESS Make Joint Submission to UNHRCs on TRC Act
05 June 2014: Advocacy Forum (AF), TRIAL (Track Impunity Always) & Redress Trust ("REDRESS") jointly made a submission to the UN Human Rights Committees (HRCs) urging that the recently passed Act on the Commission on Investigation of Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation 2071 (2014) violates international human rights law and Supreme Court's decision.
Conflict victims again moved to Supreme Court against the TRC Act
3 June 2014: Conflict victims have challenged the lately enacted transitional justice law on grounds that it infringes international human rights law and a ruling of the Supreme Court of 2 January 2014. Altogether 234 victims have lodged a petition demanding to amend the sections that chiefly aim at granting amnesty and forced reconciliation.
